PAINTER

Pankaj Kumar Singh

" This time round Pankaj’s fancy is caught by the potent hues of nature and vegetation, cleverly cross-sectioned in search of a vocabulary."

Nature has long served as an inspiration for, subject of or allegory to artistic depiction. So it is with Varanasi trained artist Pankaj Kumar Singh. Born in a farming family he carries inseparable memories of lush green cultivated land all around him, as also impressions of the layered imagery of nature that permeated his range of vision as a child. BFA and MFA at Varanasi taught him to translate these impressions into art. Pankaj has already been noticed and lauded for his acumen with muted compositions, powerful in their simplicity, drawing attention with subtle points of interest distributed discreetly over his canvas.
