The world that we inhabit today is the world of strife, struggle and insecurity, beset with internal and external violence. Terrorism, separatism, political fragmentations are the news makers, and with every act of brutality and violence individuals and societies are torn and set asunder. Added to this is the very real sense of alienation in the digital and virtual world where economic unification at the global level is bringing disintegration and disorder at the micro level.
In this environment of melancholy, angst and deepening fear psychosis one needs to infuse meaning, hope and peace in the inner self. Artists as a community have always been soul healers and this show seeks to bring artists in the forefront again. Through this show entitled Expressions, the gallery is inviting artists from every region at all stations of their professional achievement and artistic journey to create a portrait that reflects tranquillity, stillness and calmness....
